Flesh & Blood Selected for Berlinale Co-pro Series
Tauihu Media’s supernatural crime drama series project Flesh & Blood has been selected for the Berlin International Film Festival’s Co-pro Series.
Co-Pro Series is part of Drama Series Days, the section dedicated to completed TV series and TV series in development, which runs alongside the Co-Production Market in Berlin’s European Film Market.
Flesh & Blood follows Māori matakite (seer) and detective Matua Walker and his new partner Australian Detective Sarah Collins as they investigate a series of seemingly unrelated murders. The two uncover the trail of a cannibalistic serial killer possessed by an evil spirit who leads them to Mat’s hometown, his tribe, his family… and his past.
Partner with Tauihu Media on Flesh & Blood is acclaimed Australian production company Bunya Productions, led by David Josey and Greer Simpkins.
Bunya is coming off the back of a highly success run for their ‘outback noir’ crime series Mystery Road, starring Aaron Pederson and Judy Davis, and directed by Rachel Perkins.
Bunya has a high reputation for producing A list festival films with award winning directors including Ivan Sen, Warwick Thornton and Rachel Perkins.
Co-pro Series gives those selected with projects the opportunity to meet with broadcasters, sales agents, distributors and production companies to discuss financing and distribution.
Attending Berlin to pitch the project and hold one-to-one meetings with interested parties will be Tauihu principal Tui Ruwhiu and Greer Simpkin of Bunya.
Co-pro Series runs from 11 – 13 February 2019 in Berlin, alongside the European Film Market.
Ends.
